About

I’ve danced all my life, mainly trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip-Hop.  It was all put on hold for a Finance degree, which led to a career at an international bank, and then to a one-year sabbatical.  When not dancing, writing about dance, talking or dreaming about dance, I’m happiest sitting in splits with a language book.  I’m fluent in 3 languages and converse at varying levels in 6 others, though Arabic still eludes me.

Life is better with dance.

Pia is a Dance Ambassador with the Canadian Dance Assembly, the national service organization representing the professional dance sector in Canada.  She is a regular contributor toBachTrack, and has written for the Dance Current and Dance International magazines.
